I started playing guitar at 12 and although largely self-taught, I also studied music throughout all levels of education including college. I pursued my passion for sharing music and have been rewarded a thousand fold from all the grace and blessings that my career in music has afforded me.
As for teaching guitar, I started at age 15 and have been enjoying being a guitar instructor ever since. I have a wide range of styles and materials for teacher-student curriculum. I teach and/or play rock, blues, jazz, singer-songwriter, acoustic finger-style, classical, folk, country, theory, songwriting, plus the sibling instruments, ukelele and bass. I am a recording artist, having released 5 CDs.
I have had the good fortune of winning several music industry awards. In 2012, I won best blues guitarist in Lee Ritenour’s Global Guitar Competition. Applications were submitted from 49 countries worldwide. And my band won the WA blues society competition in 2016 where we went to Memphis to represent the WBS in the International Blues competition.
So feel free to contact me. I offer a free first lesson in the spirit of no pressure and good will.
